I was so disappointed with this book. I expected something more concrete, complex and helpful. The author used to read faces at parties as a paid party entertainer, for godssake. I read it and tried all of the exercises, and to get anything out of it you have to be one of those New-Age-suspension-of-reason types. It is simplistic and unhelpful. Someone with a more serious background in psychology is better equipped to truly help people who have a problem with feeling too much empathy.

This is a great book with very helpful methods. Even an experienced empath can find useful insights. Unfortunately there are no chapter headings and the table of contents does not link to the chapters and so on the kindle it can only be navigated one screen at a time or by using location markers. I ended up highlighting all chapter headings and subheadings, which makes for a long annotations list (23 screens!) but at least makes it possible to move around the book.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who thinks they may be empathic or know of a loved one who may be.
After doing the first exercise in the book, my life totally changed for the better! Amazing! I had many fabulous experiences at work and in my relationships from just one exercise. I feel like pieces of the puzzle are coming into place. I am so excited about my future!
Before reading this book, I was very confused with all the emotions I had. I am a problem solver by nature so I would analyze these emotions to try to figure out what in my life would have caused them. Can you imagine picking up a feeling from someone else and trying to find some thing in your life that may have caused it? Most often, I could only come up with small things that might have been taken the wrong way. I thought if I apologized then the emotion would go away. I was continually apologizing to people for stupid little things. My friends and family did not understand me. They thought I worried too much.
This is a great book for explaining all the different forms of empathy and has a quiz to see if you have empathy. Surprisingly, Emotional Empathy is only one of many forms. Rose says that one out of every 20 people have some form of Empathy.
I found that after reading part one, I couldn’t move forward. I needed more work on learning to sort my emotions from others. Luckily, Rose Rosetree just came out with another book that has a great plan for getting you there, Become The Most Important Person in the Room: Your 30-Day Plan for Empath Empowerment It is a great book! I am working on the exercises and am feeling better every day. I highly recommend it if after working through part one of Empowered by Empathy : 25 Ways to Fly in Spirit you still need help getting skilled at turning empathy off.
Thank you Rose Rosetree! You have helped my world make more sense and helped me to be the best I can be for all those around me.

Rose Rosetree opens worlds with her methods of realizing ourselves and others. She explains things very well but what she offers takes effort, committment and practise.

I used to consider myself always as being sensitive / hypersensitive and many a times want to change myself, and say things inwardly as to what is wrong with me for being so silly and sensitive. this book really validated my feelings and taught me that there was nothing wrong with me but just that i had a gift which i was not able to use. i would recommend reading this book by anyone who feels they are extra sensitive.
